Wright International Ltd has successfully sold and delivered a 36 passenger boat, “Spirit of Skye”, from Inverness, Scotland to the Republic of Kazakhstan. After viewing and sea trialling this boat, our customer agreed to purchase the boat from us and asked us to deliver the boat for them to Kazakhstan.
The delivery started with the boat being delivered from its mooring in the Caledonian Canal to Caley Marina, Inverness. It is here that we had arranged for a special crane to be in place to lift the boat out the water and onto an awaiting truck.
With the boat now secure on the trailer, it was then delivered by road to a yard in Glasgow to have the wheelhouse removed due to height restrictions for its next leg of the trip.
With the wheelhouse now removed and secure on the aft deck, the boat was delivered by road to Prestwick Airport, Scotland, where we had arranged for a massive Antonov 22 cargo plane to be awaiting just for us.
Despite the massive presence of this aircraft, there were still nervous faces and anxious moments as the boat begins its transfer from the truck to the plane. One simple but crucial question is on everyone’s mind…..”will it fit?”
Final checks and measurements are in place and the transfer begins. All eyes are on the clearances which are getting narrower by the second.
In the final stages of the boat being unloaded, it is clear that there is in fact enough space but it will be tight.
The boat is now winched slowly into the plane inch by inch…….

A close eye is kept on the clearances both at the sides and the top to ensure everything will be secure for the trip from Scotland to Kazakhstan.
The boat is now firmly in the plane and final preparations are taken to secure the boat for its 10 hour flight.
With the boat now securely in place, Wright International Ltd can mark this one up as yet another successful sale and delivery. We have already sold boats to countries including Canada, Croatia, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ghana, Greenland, Ireland, Malta, Mexico, Poland, Thailand, Romania, Scotland, Singapore, Wales and of course Kazakhstan to name but a few.
