Engines

This vessel is powered by twin Ford Beta engines and they have been refurbished in 2005. The vessel has been maintained to a very high standard and has a maintenance programme to be proud of. Marinisation by Beta Marine included 90kg flywheels, forward PTO shafts and 24v electrics with insulated return. The engines are on flexible mounts and they drive 23 ins, 3 bladed propellers through Newage PRM 302 2:1 reduction gearboxes and reversible 50mm stainless shafts. “Deap Sea” shaft seals and water lubricated stern bearings are fitted.

Fuel is carried in two tanks. Each engine can be run from either tank and a fuel transfer pump enables the smaller tank to be topped up from the larger.

She is now red in colour and has been used as a workboat and not a fishing boat.

Decking Equipment

This vessel has a general overall feeling of solid construction. The whole boat has been exceedingly well thought out and constructed. There is a second steering console mounted on the forward starboard side of the boat for use in close quarters.

A substantial main gantry on the afterdeck is supported by strengthened frames and fishroom bulkheads. A tubular mast of 89 x 5mm pipe is stepped above this gantry and stayed to the quarters and to the forward gantry. Three booms are slung from the mast. A 6m unloading pole (SWL 250kg), a 3m power block boom (SWL 1000kg) and a small boom. The main gantry also carries two A-Frame trawl gallows which fold into the gantry sides when not in use. A pursuing davit is mounted at the starboard rail amidships.

Engine removal on the port side is through a watertight hatch in the wheelhouse roof.
