If you are in the market for a serious cruiser or just like having the comfort of knowing you have a sound engine to help you if the weather changes for the worse, then you can relax with this yacht. She is powered by one of the simplest of engines to maintain the FORD D Series rated at 70 HP.
As we said earlier in the specification above the FORD “D” Series only burns less than one gallon per hour when doing around 7 knots with her four cylinder engine so quiet you would hardly know it was switched on. It can take you up to 9 knots depending on tides but to be fair she is designed to do the 7 knots.
The 2:1 reduction Borg Warner hydraulic gearbox is connected to the NEW shaft and reconditioned 3 bladed prop.
4 x Marine 110amp Batteries are charged by the alternator through a smart charger.
There is an EBERSPACHER 3kw hot air heating system still to be finished but all there just to be completed.
Fuel: The tanks hold 200 gallons and it presently has 190 gallons on board (included in the price).

This is a serious yacht built by Hartley South Seas in ferro cement and is long keel with bilge keels fitted for a smoother ride. Bermudan ketch rigged and fully inspected by a first class surveyor just 2 years ago. This means the survey if you wish to use it, is still allowed for insurance and bank finance purposes.
Her present owner told us with pride “This is a great sea going yacht I have lived on her for the past 3 years and have done lots of great sailing in all sorts of weather. She is ready to go to sea.”
When we say that this type of vessel is a Blue Water vessel, its sister ship is still sailing in New Zealand and has been used for the last 14 years by the same owner.

When you consider living on any yacht you have to be aware that there is enough natural light coming in to make it pleasant to actually live in. This is also true for week-end sailors. This boat is bright and incredibly spacious. She has full 6 Ft 2 Ins headroom throughout and she is solid. Everything on her works and everything that you see except the every personal of items, comes with the boat.
She can sleep 6. She sleeps 2 in the forward cabin, 3 midships and 1 in wheelhouse.
The forward cabin is bright and there is a double bunk with storage lockers. The 100 gallon fresh water tank is located below the bunk. Walking back toward the aft on the Port side is the heads compartment with sea toilet, shower and sink. Hot and cold pressurised running water is on tap. On the starboard side is a matching wardrobe with shelving.
Saloon is very spacious and unbelievably so when you consider that she has a forward cabin , saloon , wheelhouse and aft deck and all for under 40 Ft. The most impressive feature of the saloon is the present owners ability to position items to maximise space. On the port side is two bench seats and a table that folds down to make a double berth. Starboard side is a single berth. All round the saloon is ample shelving and storage. Included in the sale is a 15 ins LCD TV, video, DVD, digital TV.
If you can draw yourself away from the saloon you come up to the wheelhouse, which could easily double up as a second saloon. This is where the owner does most of his living. It has 360 deg visibility and it both bright and cosy. It has an electronics bank that any chandlers business would be proud of (see electronics) and it has the inside steering position. The chart table is on the port side.
The galley has a gas fridge, a 2 ring hob & grill, a favel cooker, Poloa water heater which is worked automatic with two bar fresh water pump, Stainless steel sink with hot & cold pressurised running water. Below the floor is an automatic bilge pump with float switch and a whale manual bilge pump.
On deck the first thing that you notice is the rigging is all nearly new, both standing and running. The gunwales are very easy to walk round and the anti slip mats very reassuring if you were doing serious sailing. The two hollow section spruce masts have been fully restored and are again in perfect order. The main is 42 ft and the mizzen 32 ft.
As mentioned elsewhere the owner spent a lot of money restoring this vessel to its present state. She comes complete with fully restored masts, standing rigging AND full
set of sails.
The Genoa is hank on reef able. The main is on a runner and is also reef able.
The present owner knows how to impress and one look at the inside helm shows you one of the most impressive banks of electronics. Take a look at this and they are all included in the sale price.
