When you buy a vessel of this size you do so for one reason only – POWER. That power has to be available when required and has to be reliable as the vessel you are towing is going to be a fair size and needs you to pull it out of danger. With this in mind and after some deliberation the designers selected CAT as the preferred manufacturer of machinery on board. 60 TBP requires some amount of power and that is why the main engines selected were the Cat 3516B Engines.
The twin Cat 3516B engines deliver 2575 BHP (1920 Kw) @ 1600 rpm. This power is transmitted through the Reintes LAF 872, 7.526:1 reduction gearboxes to the Nickel Aluminium Bronze constant pitch propellers.
GEN SETS
To make the provision of spares so much easier the designed selected CAT for the Gen Sets as well. The main generating power comes from :-
3 x Caterpillar 3408C units each producing 280kw – 415v – 3 Phase – 50 Hz
AUXILIARY GEN SETS
1 x Perkins 52 kw
BOW THRUSTER
Even though you have all the power being delivered from the main engines the designers also added a Kawasaki KT-43B1, Constant pitch 5 Tonnes thrusters that is driven by an electric motor.

The market demand on vessels of this size is so great at the moment that these vessels usually sell before they are launched. With the Caspian Sea now open for business and the development in the Gulf, vessels with 60 TBP are in great demand when they are also AHTS vessel as well, then you really have to be quick.
This vessel was built to be sold to any country in the world and with its full ABS + A1E OFFSHORE SUPPORT VESSEL & FIRE FIGHTING CLASS 1 + AMS certification it would make a truly magnificent asset to any company.
TONNAGE
Gross tonnage 1500
Deadweight 1400 Tonnes
BOLLARD PULL
60 Tonnes
The deck space on this vessel is extremely impressive and given that the deck load was uprated to 7.5 Tonnes / m2, then it became a very useful tool.
The clear aft deck space is some 350m2 and that means it can carry up to 2600 TONNES OF CARGO. Despite having all these statistics it still mages a very sensible 13 Knots making it extremely suited to long distance towage work or supply work.

This kind of vessel is usually to be found undertaking tows for extended period of time and the designers were quick to ensure the Crew were as comfortable as possible whilst they were at sea.
That is why the ship has been fitted out with Cabins rather than the old Dormitory style.
• 4 x 1 Man Cabin (Captain and 1st Engineer)
• 3 x 2 Man Cabin
• 8 x 4 Man Cabin
TOTAL = 42 Men
Due to the nature of these vessels there is also a Hospital Unit installed to allow her to be used in that capacity as well, or simply in Emergency for any of the Crew that takes ill.
The accommodation does not end with the Cabins there is also the Heads, Showers, Galley for 42 Men and rest room or Saloon. There are few ships around with this degree of comfort built in for the Crew and this means that the owner can be seen to be respectful of his Staff without any effort put in by the “Company”.
You have seen the specification on the engine and on the construction and it is therefore no surprise that the Deck Equipment is equally as impressive.
Take the Deck Crane for instance. The designers could have used any deck crane, but since that aft deck space is so versatile they pre-empted the applications it could be used for by installing a 3 Tonne S.W.L. @ 9m Crane. There are not many designers and manufacturers that would install a 27 T/m crane without being specifically asked to do so.
•2 x 1305kg Anchors
•36mm Dia Chain x 440m
•8 Tonne @ 12m / min Windlass
•Stern Roller is 4 Metres long x 1.6m Dia and has a 200 Tonne S.W.L. capacity
•2 x 10 Tonne @ 15 m / min Electro – hydraulic Tugger winches
•2 x 5 Tonne @ 15 m / min Electro – hydraulic Stern Capstans
•1 x 150 Tonne Electro – hydraulic Anchor Handling winch with a 200 Tonne brake holding
•200 Tonne Towing Pin
•200 Tonne S.W.L. Shark Jaws
The general specification has shown that the designer have not cut corners in any of the categories and have used only the best, most up to date equipment to allow this vessel to truly be called a state of the art vessel. It will therefore come as no surprise that the wheelhouse is probably as impressive as the rest of the vessel and one glance will show you that only the best has been used.
