Wright International Ltd is delighted to be able to bring this excellent vessel which has lots of potential as a liveaboard. This vessel has been very well maintained and is ready to sail. The hull has been out the water, stripped and repainted with two pack paint, re – caulked and new anodes fitted. The anti foul is so good it even carries a five year warranty. This boat was manufactured in 1964 when skills were superior to what they are today. It has proved itself as one of the best sea worthy boats and would sail anywhere at any time. Being Larch on Oak it can be maintained for a long time to come. In the 70`s the wheelhouse was removed and an aluminium one was fitted in its place. The 6 cylinder Gardner engine can run all day at 8 knots and only burns just 2 Gallons per hour. The vessel would be ideal for a liveaboard, workboat, dive charter or fishing vessel. Whatever you intend to use it for you will not regret viewing this vessel. It is lying in some of the finest waters to be found anywhere in the world. Engines

MAIN ENGINE

This Inchcape 45 is fitted with one of the most reliable and one of the most economical engines for its size. The 110 BHP 6 cylinder Gardner engine (1971) delivers enough power to sail at 8 knots and yet still only burns 2 gallons per hour. The power is transmitted down through the self changing gearbox MRF 50OHD through the shaft to a 4 blade propeller. The engine is controlled with a twin lever control.

Auxiliary

There is a 3 cylinder 30BHP Yanmar 3GM30 diesel engine to drive the hydraulics.

Construction

When you look at this Inchcape 45 you realise instantly it was designed as a sea worthy vessel and built to last. Built in 1964 with solid oak frames at 2 Ft centres. Then the larch planking is attached using galvanised fasteners. In 1991 the deck was replaced with teak epoxied on ply deck. The bulwarks have all round varnished capping rail.

This is the long keel version with a canoe stern. This boat is relatively easy to manoeuvre on its own, but when you consider the owner has fitted a hydraulic bow thrusters.

In 2006 the vessel was completely stripped back to bare timber. It was sanded and repainted using Ameron two pack paint. The caulking was check and replaced where necessary and the anodes were replaced.

The anti foul was stripped and replaced with new anti foul which carries a five year guarantee.

Accomodation

This Inchcape 45 has 8 berths

Fore Cabin – the forecabin has 2 x single berths to port and 1 x single berth to starboard.

Saloon – The saloon on this Inchcape 45 can only be described as spacious.
There is a heads compartment with WC and shower unit to port.
There is also a single berth to port round the table.
There is a settee berth to starboard.

Galley – has everything you would require including a gas cooker, double sink, fridge and storage in lockers.

Wheelhouse – fitted out with electronics as shown below

Aft Cabin - as you step down into the aft cabin the heads on the starboard side. There is also a double berth to port and a single berth to port.

Unlike some of the converted MFV there is full standing headroom throughout. When this vessel has the capability of long sea voyages either under sail or power or both, the full standing headroom makes it a most enjoyable experience.

Decking Equipment

Deck equipment is simple to keep the gunwales clear. There is a hydraulic windlass to handle the two anchors with chain.

Sails and Rigging

Sails – The sails on this vessel separate it from most of the MFV conversions. It is a gaff rigged ketch and has 520 sq Tan Duradon sails mounted on varnished masts and spars, with stainless steel standing rigging.
