Chris Craft Riviera 58

Wright International Ltd has a real admiration for yachts of this class. With a length overall of 63ft, twin diesel, stabilisers and a solid aluminium hull design, this yacht is capable of sailing in weather most others would struggle in. What is even more impressive is to have such a sea worthy design, yet offer 8 berths in 4 staterooms with nothing but luxury onboard. This is the type of yacht you can have as much fun in whether you are sailing to your favourite anchorage, or whether you are relaxing when you arrive. Yachts of this design are very few and far between, one with a Chris Craft heritage is extremely rare. We believe there to be only 30 of these yachts ever built, very few will have benefited from such a generous and fastidious owner. Engines

This luxury motor yacht is one serious offshore cruiser. It is powered by twin Caterpillar D 336 diesel inboards. These engines produce around 420hp each and have only 2400 hours logged since being overhauled. These engines are coupled to twin disc gearboxes.

This configuration allows you to cruise at 10 knots all day and only burn 1 US Gallon per mile. These engines can push you to 15 knots but with different props required. The current configuration is for efficiency, economy and stability….not performance.

As an example of the work carried out recently, last years service included new belts, new impellers, new manifolds, new water hoses, new fuel hoses, new injectors, new transmission hoses, and both turbos and compressors rebuilt.

The exhaust system was replaced in 2001 by Vernatubes and blue silicone hoses. There is also an excellent oil change system onboard designed for serious extended cruising. This system allows for the 2 main engines, gearboxes and the generator to have a complete oil change either in the marina or at sea.

The engine room is also equipped with a total of 6 bilge blowers. Bilge blowers may be more commonly found on petrol engines, but with this set up, there is far greater ventilation for the engines to breathe.

The owners have been running a 4” blower to cool the engine room after the engines have stopped, but also 3 x 4” and 2 x 16” blowers for when they have been cruising onboard.

For the asking price of $220,000 the owners will also include $10,000 worth of engines spares to ensure you can begin cruising in comfort immediately. For extra piece of mind, you can also monitor the engine room from the helm with CCTV cameras.

Construction

This Chris Craft designed yacht has been designed for serious extended cruising and you will struggle to find a yacht as sea worthy for the same amount of money. At 63ft in length, this yacht is made of marine aluminium ensuring the hull to be strong yet light weight and low maintenance. The superstructure onboard is of GRP construction and all internal woodwork is of mahogany.

This combination gives a very solid design that has proved to be a success with an extensive amount of miles been covered over the years in comfort and style. For extra comfort onboard, you will find stabilisers onboard as well.

This pneumatic stabilizer system is simple, rugged and efficient. The Servo Gyro was rebuilt by the factory in 2003, all the actuators were new in 2004 and both air compressors were rebuilt in 2006.

This yacht is unlike most other Chris Craft yachts of this design as this particular yacht has a flybridge installed. The flybridge is of fibreglass construction to keep this lightweight, strong yet low maintenance. The hard top was designed to be strong enough to carry a mans weight and all the necessary equipment such as Navigation Lights, Horns, Radar Antenna, Search Light, TV Antenna, Light, GPS Antennas.

The flybridge also offers an electric 115v crane to lift a 9’ RIB and outboard.

Accomodation

We believe that this yacht will attract not only customers looking for serious offshore cruisers, but also customers looking for a comfortable liveaboard as well. Let’s be honest, you will struggle to find any property to be proud of with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 living rooms and a fully equipped kitchen for only $220,000. With this boat, you get all that and the freedom to cruise every weekend when you’re not working!

The boat is fully air conditioned with 6 air conditioning units onboard all powered by an Oberdorfer 115 VAC sea water pump with an identical unit on standby. The 4 cabins each have 5000 BTU, with both the saloon and upper saloon having 9000 BTU. This system allows you to cool the whole boat or only where it is needed, so it is very economical and efficient to operate.

The galley onboard allows you to prepare all your favourite meals and I am sure your guests will be coming back time after time for your secret recipes. When we say this galley is well equipped we mean it, this galley includes:-

• Bread Machine
• Coffee Maker
• Dishwasher (2002)
• Dryer (2004)
• Electric 4 Burners/Oven (2005)
• Galley Maid 50 GPD Water Maker (2001)
• Ice Maker (2004)
• Large Fridge/Freezer
• Microwave
• Stainless Steel Sink With Pressurised Hot And Cold Water
• Washing Machine (2004)

With 8 berths in 4 cabins, it could be difficult to keep everyone onboard entertained…..that is unless you’re on this boat! This boat has everything you could possibly need and more! For example:-

• 2 Dish Receivers With 2 Fixed Antennas (2005)
• 3 x TV’s With DVD (2006)
• Stereo System With CD Changer With Extension Amplifier On Upper Saloon
• TV With DVD + VHF (lower salon) (2006)
• TV With Sea Watch Antenna

In order for you to keep in touch with your guests and crew, there is also 4 wireless intercom telephones located onboard.

The owners appreciated the fact that not all marinas and anchorages allow you to discharge any sewage overboard. As a result, in 2002 a holding tank was installed with a new macerator pump installed in 2006.

This system allows all 3 electric heads to be connected with Y valves to a 40 US Gallon holding tank. The plastic holding tank can be emptied by shore pump out or by Shurflow macerator pump overboard.

Decking Equipment

This yacht is equipped with 3 anchors onboard and an electric windlass.

• 1 x Fortress Anchor + chain and rope
• 1 x Bruce 75 + chain and rope
