This vessel was built to travel the world and the designers had to find an engine with reliability built in. they chose the Shanxi 8PC2-6L to power this vessel as it will allow the ship to sail at up to 14 knots with 908 TEU on board. The 12 cylinder engine produces 4400kW (5900 BHP) at just 520 rpm, making it very economic to run. The gearbox is a Sichuan 3.5:1 reduction unit.

Consumption is just 203 g/kW/hr
