Wright International Ltd is delighted to have on offer, this very solid and capable liveaboard motor yacht. This 1973 Bertram Motor Yacht has benefited from being owned and maintained by a very caring and dedicated couple but unfortunately as the couple are now in there 70s, they are reluctantly having to sell there pride and joy. Onboard you will find many luxuries including a 42 plasma TV, a new 18.8 cubic foot refrigerator top load freezer with ice maker and even a bath to help you settle in your new home from day 1. There is still a small area of the boat that could benefit from being upgraded and refurbished, but this yacht is priced accordingly. With 6 berths onboard, twin 435hp Detroit diesels, dual helm stations and air-conditioned throughout, this is an excellent opportunity to purchase a true American classic for only $159,000.

As a broker, we get to work with boat of all shapes and sizes, both leisure and commercial. As you can imagine, there are many tricks of the trade and one of which I will share with you right now.
This yacht was first launched in 1973, over 30 years ago .yet due to the love and the passion that each and every owner has shown since new, every original instruction manual and documentation for the yacht and all equipment onboard is still in place. By having this information and documentation, it will make familiarisation far easier to achieve.
The accommodation onboard makes this yacht ideal for extended cruising or for living aboard full time. The owners have lived on this yacht for 8 years now.
The forward cabin has a v-berth which the owners have cleverly converted into an office. This cabin has been fully refurbished and offers 6 drawers and 4 closets for storage. The woodwork has recently been refurbished as well as having new carpets and lighting installed.
This cabin has an en-suite feel to it, but in actual fact only shares the forward heads compartment as you can access this from the saloon or from the forward cabin. This heads compartment has also been upgraded and includes a new Galley Maid Delta elongated commode with the macerator and water intake below deck. As well as a toilet, you will also find a wash hand basin and shower within a self draining basin. All the interior walls have been refinished along with the wood trim. The faucets for both the wash hand basin and shower have been replaced, as well as, the mirrors and curtains.
The galley onboard has been completely renovated and features a custom made solid walnut table with new custom cushions of commercial grade material. This custom table will comfortably seat six making this ideal for entertaining both family and friend. As this yacht has been used as the owners home for 8 years now, you can imagine the galley has all the essentials for preparing a good healthy meal.
As part of the upgrades in the galley, the owners installed a new 18.8 cubic foot refrigerator with a top load freezer and ice maker. The galley counter tops have also been replaced and enhance the stainless steel double drain sink.
When it comes to cooking your meals, the owners have installed a new Galley Maid 3 burner gas hob and oven. The galley, like the heads compartments, has all new faucets including those for drinking water.
There is arguably more storage space in this yacht than there is in your average house. The galley boasts a broom closet as well as a pantry for canned goods and 4 cabinets with sliding glass doors. The dinette has further storage under the seats.
The main saloon onboard this classic motor yacht is currently in the process of being refurbished. The saloon has benefited from having new headlining, curtains and valance fitted. There is also fluorescent down lighting under the valance for a cosy feel in the evenings.
The most obvious upgrade in the saloon is the installation of a new 42 plasma TV. It is very easy to picture coming home from a hard day in the office and simply chilling out onboard.
The aft cabin has yet to be refurbished, but will hopefully be refurbished soon. There is loads of space as well as storage in this cabin that easily allows you to live onboard.
Like many modern hotels now, the aft cabin has 2 double beds making this ideal especially for those with a young family. The cabin also offers a 6 drawer dresser with vanity mirror and a large closet for extra storage.
The aft cabin head is equipped with a Raritan Atlantis commode plumbed into a new Sealand holding tank with a Jabsco macerator for both overboard or to pump out. Both tanks have y valves and have tank watch alarms mounted in the main saloon. All through hull fittings and valves are bronze/brass with inline strainer from the bathtub and shower overboard. All faucets in the aft heads are new, as well as, refinished wood, new wall paper and mirrors.
As this yacht has been used as the permanent base for the owners, the power onboard has been increased to allow for all domestic appliances to be operated both at the boats mooring and at sea.
The main power panels are located in the saloon. These panels consist of an 110v power panel, a 32v power panel and two 12v power panels for electronic equipment and accessories. Included with the boat is a new set of 50ft power cables with y adapter. There are also shore power, water and phone connections located on both the port and starboard of the yacht.
The aluminium Ideal Bow pulpit has been re-chromed with rebuilt capstan and gypsy. The electric windlass is coupled with 200' of chain and a CQR anchor, or alternatively you have 100 of line with a Danforth anchor. There are additional anchors and line as spares.
The dingy, located on the swim platform, is a 13' Boston Whaler with a 1995 9.9 H.P outboard. The Mercury has approximately 100 hours and has just had a Mercury dealer service. The dealer service included gear lube change and 100 hour inspection, etc. The dinghy rests on the swim platform with stainless steel davits and has a block and tackle for lowering.
