Construction

If you are looking for a boat that can sail in any weather, you need a yacht that is solidly constructed. This yacht is constructed of six pairs of 1.5 ounce mat and 24 ounce woven roving over 0.75 ounce mat and gel coat.

From the waterline to the turn of the keel, you will find four additional pairs that is the equivalent to 20 layers by normal industry standards. The fibreglass has been hand laid and the deck was chemically bonded and bolted to the hull giving a very strong and stiff construction.

The bulkheads onboard consist of 2 x 0.5 inch teak marine ply panels that are epoxy bonded into continuous 1 inch thick sheets. The bulkheads were then bonded to the hull with 5 layers of fibreglass.

The ballast onboard weighs an impressive 7,000 pounds while the yacht has a displacement of 26,000 pounds and a total weight in the slings of 34,000 pounds or 15.4 metric tons.

The ballast itself consists of steel rods sealed inside the keel and bonded with 6 layers of fibreglass.

Accomodation

The accommodation on this yacht is perfect for a couple looking to spend time either living aboard permanently or for cruising on extended vacations. Instead of having several cabins with small berths etc, this yacht only has 2 berths plus the saloon.

However, the cabin is extremely spacious with loads of storage drawers and cabinets to help make this the perfect liveaboard. There is also a walk in shower rather than a make shift shower. Let’s be honest, if your boat is going to be your home, you want the comfort of your home with you.

From bow to stern you obviously have at the bow the anchor locker, but as you head aft you will find the shower and heads. This has proved a great idea as it helps keep any steam or smell away from the main saloon or galley. Aft of the heads is the large cabin with a queen size berth. This makes the cabin en-suite and as I mentioned above, you have loads of storage for all your personal belongings.

As you head aft, you have the galley and dining area that has been utilised as a small office. Being amidships, this is close on the yachts pivot point making this a great area to work as your office. You do not have the pitch and roll that you have at the bow or stern.

The galley has all the facilities you could ever require to cook your favourite meal onboard, who knows it may even be your catch of the day.

As you continue heading aft, you will find the helm and navigation station. What is really special with this yacht is the excellent visibility. If you are going to be cruising for hundreds if not thousands of miles, you want to be on a boat with great comfort and visibility. You have a full bank of electronics equipment onboard to make your long distance travels so much easier and relaxing.

As you continue heading aft, you have the large and open saloon again with loads of visibility. The fact this yacht is as bright and airy, you never have a sense of being claustrophobic. This is crucial to have as many boats do not offer so much natural light.

Finally as you head aft you lead out to the aft cockpit where the owners have enjoyed watching the evening sunset or morning sunrise in a different location almost every time.
