Construction

What earns any yacht the reputation of Blue Water Cruiser is the fact that at some point a yacht and its crew were in conditions where the whole crew wished they were back home in a warm bed with a nice warm cup of coffee. How the yacht handles this weather and how the crew survives the ordeal determines the difference between a normal Catamaran and a WITNESS CUTTER RIGGED CATAMARAN. With many long passages successfully navigated these Catamarans have earned the right in the annuls of Maritime History; to be held in high esteem as true Blue Water Cruisers.

Being one piece hulls in hand laid GRP about ½ Ins thick at the shoes tapering to ¼ Ins thick at the sheer. The structural foam sandwich construction stiffens and insulates the hulls throughout the accommodation area, deck and bridge deck. All the Bulkheads and floorboards are bonded to the hulls for added strength.

Accomodation

If you enjoy modern living with ever larger high definition televisions, full height fridge freezers, reclining sofas and timber decked patios, why would you wish to subject your family and friends to confined space of a monohulls when you could all relax in this WITNESS CUTTER RIGGED CATAMARAN. This may be a yacht. This may be a Blue Water sailing yacht, but it has more space on board this 36 Ft WITNESS CUTTER RIGGED CATAMARAN than you would have on a 46 Ft monohulls.

There are two distinct criteria that defines the reputation of the Skipper of any sailing vessel and that is the Skippers ability to trim his sails and how he entertain his guests when the sails come down. Sailing in the confines of the modern monohulls the latter is more challenging than the first. Sailing in a WITNESS CUTTER RIGGED CATAMARAN you can relax because not only will your family and friends enjoy life on deck, they will also enjoy life down below.

PORT HULL

•Forward Stateroom - The Port Hull has a forward stateroom with full sized double bed and the warm friendly ambiance of having white lining surrounded by rich warm wood. The varnished wood round the large forward facing windows allows the whole cabin to be bright and welcoming.

•Heads - The heads and shower is again in easy clean white PVC laminate with the same varnished wood surround.

•Galley – what better way to ensure YOUR reputation than by wining and dining your guests in style. The galley on this WITNESS CUTTER RIGGED CATAMARAN allows you to do just that.
•(2004) Gruner AC 475 Fridge Freezer ensures the food is kept fresh.
•The double sink with hot and cold running water allows you to prepare the food.
•The gimbaled propane stove and oven allows to select a wide variety of dishes to serve depending on sea state and time to serve.
•For those quick fast food moments there is always the ever dependable microwave.

STARBOARD HULL

•Forward Stateroom - The Starboard Hull has a forward stateroom with full sized double bed and the warm friendly ambiance of having white lining surrounded by rich warm wood. The varnished wood round the large forward facing windows allows the whole cabin to be bright and welcoming.

•The starboard hull also has a single berth for guest or crew to relax in as well.

•Navigation Station – This WITNESS CUTTER RIGGED CATAMARAN is a Blue Water Cruiser and it does not matter whether you are a seasoned navigator or modern electronics man, you will still require a navigation station with a good chart table. This chart table allows you to scan the coast or plan your next ocean crossing.

•Engine Room – the engine room on a catamaran is a pleasure to work in. space all round the engine allows access to any part quickly and efficiently. You do not have to dismantle half the boat to get to the engine if it ever let you down.

BETWEEN THE HULLS

•Between the hulls – when you are on a monohull this is a statement you cannot make and yet on this WITNESS CUTTER RIGGED CATAMARAN you get an extremely spacious saloon between the hulls. The spacious saloon is again finished off in white soft linings with warm varnished wood. The rich dark blue soft velour seating round the dining table allows everyone on board to relax in comfort and a style only Catamarans can enjoy. With all the luxuries including the color television it is hard to imagine you are on a 36 Ft yacht. The whole boat has been fitted out with air conditioning to cool off in those warm sunshine states.

•Cockpit – is well appointed with the white leather cushions all round providing copious amounts of seating for all the guests to enjoy being on deck. The Captain can enjoy trimming the sails or monitoring his course from the confines of a “Captains” bucket seat. In port you can create extra accommodation as the cockpit can be completely canvassed to allow entertaining in privacy and comfort on board.

•Storage Holds – There is a storage hold built into the forward of each hull. This is normally where you have your sail locker and chain and warp for the anchors. Again being a Cat you have one for each.

Decking Equipment

Safety, Safety, Safety three words that some up the deck of a WITNESS CUTTER RIGGED CATAMARAN. Everywhere you look there are stainless steel handholds. Both hulls have stanchions with hand and knee protection. The aft deck has the rear stays beyond the handrail for extra safety. There is also dive ladders to lead down to the dingy and into the water itself in sheltered beaches.

There is a small bimini fitted to the helm for protection for the Captain and for the impressive bank of electronics from the direct sunlight.

Both forward jibs are on roller reefing with lines running aft to allow the sails to be trimmed from the cockpit.

The 53 Ft high mast has a radar deflector mounted to allow other radars to pick up the yacht in adverse weather conditions.

There is ample storage under the deck seating for fenders, mooring lines and canvas covers to be neatly stowed away when at sea.

Sails and Rigging

This Blue water Cruiser has the advantage of having a 53 Ft high mast and yet allows the crew to operate the sails with consummate ease. The age of the sails is generally uncertain but the Main is almost new. The sail inventory also includes 2 x reefing jibs which are in fair to good condition and a spinnaker which is in fair condition.

The WITNESS CUTTER RIGGED CATAMARAN allows you and your very valued guests to enjoy the light summer breezes or handle the open waters with safety and still enjoy a good turn of speed. There can be few more relaxing pleasures than cruising along on autopilot, upright listing to the gentle winds flow through the sails while you wine and dine your family and friends in of these WITNESS CUTTER RIGGED CATAMARANS.

Navigation Equipment

There are windbaggers out there who frown upon the amount of the electronics that is available nowadays for navigating the passages and voyages once you are outside the harbor walls. If you are looking to enjoy the safety of a WITNESS CUTTER RIGGED CATAMARAN, then why not enjoy knowing exactly where you and where you intend to be by looking at an impressive bank of electronics around your helm.

•RUTLAND 913 (2005) WIND GENERATOR
•120W SOLAR PANEL
•(2005) RAYMARINE AUTO PILOT
•GARMINE GPS MAP 220
•(2005) RAYMARINE DEPTH
•SILVA WIND INDICATOR

This bank of instruments would give any Skipper the confidence to travel unchartered territories to find the isolated beaches that only Catamarans like this can enjoy.

Safety Equipment
