Engines

This yacht has the capabilities to cruise under sail or power thanks to the power of the new Universal Westerbeke diesel engine installed in 2005. This engine has less than 50 hours on the clock and produces 38hp. This allows you to cruise at a comfortable 6 knots or a maximum of 7.5 knots.

When the owner replaced the engine, he did not cut costs or take short cuts by any means. The owner looks on the engine as a means of getting you home when there is no wind or when something goes wrong. In other words, you need the engine to start first time, every time.

Not only did the owner replace the engine, but he also replaced the gearbox, new coupler and dampener, new shaft and a new 3 bladed bronze propeller. The complete propulsion unity from top to bottom has been replaced, right down to new control panel and throttle cables.

Accomodation

The accommodation onboard this yacht is so spacious and comfortable, the owners lived onboard permanently up until recently. Unfortunately, the owners health does not allow him to sail the same way as he used to and he now plans to move from sail to power and purchase a trawler yacht or similar.

This yacht is capable of sleeping 6 guests in 3 cabins with a converting dinette that has a custom made Queen size berth with fitted sheets. Like everything else on this yacht, the accommodation has seen upgrades over the past years including new hot water heater, new stove, new lighting, new heads and many more upgrades.

This is a fantastic yacht for living aboard either in a marina, at anchor or as you cruise the seven seas on your next adventure.

Decking Equipment

From 2004 to 2006, the owner spent a small fortune upgrading the yacht inside and out, top to bottom and without missing a single area in between.

In 2004 the mast was removed and all wiring and lights etc were replaced and upgraded. A new antenna and coaxial cable was installed and a new battery box was built and epoxy sealed at the same time.

When the battery box was formed, the electrics were upgraded with new battery isolator switches installed. The batteries themselves were replaced in 2006 with 4 x new 27D deep cycle batteries. The complete electric control panel system was replaced and upgraded and 2 dedicated bilge pump circuits were added as well.

In 2005 came a new installation that every Floridian demands yet is not always provided with…..air con! A Mermaid 16,500 BTU central air conditioning unit was installed allowing you to relax onboard no matter what the weather was outside. Due to the demand the air-conditioning unit can be under in Florida, a new HD high volume pump was installed as well as a new perko strainer.

In 2006 this yacht was hauled out the water, surveyed and had some upgrades carried out below the waterline as well. The survey found no blisters on this 39 year old yacht at all!! This is thanks to the tremendous care each and every owner has paid to the yacht together with the solid construction from day 1.

While the yacht was out the water, all through hull fittings were replaced with new bronze Apollo ball valve sea cocks. The hull was also given a double coat of Trinidad Pro Black anti-foul paint.

Sails and Rigging

This 1978 Endeavour 37 sloop is currently fitted with a full furling main and 130% jib. Both these sails are equipped with a sun guard. In 2006 the owner purchased a custom made and contoured bimini and cockpit dodger. This gives you protection for both rain and rays when at sea or at anchor. This has proved invaluable when relaxing in Florida’s sweltering heat.
