WIL 1618 - 17M PILOT BOAT has been designed for the most demanding of waters and with safety as the main prerequisite of its Naval Architects. This boat is designed to carry a maximum of 15 people at speeds of 22.5 knots with 100% Fuel and Water. To achieve this, the Manufacturers have selected to use the twin Scania DSI 16 V8 engines with a total of 1050 BHP delivering the power through the twin disc MG-5114A gearbox with a 1.7:1 Ratio down the shaft to the propellers.

Engines

PILOT BOATS have to be designed to operate whenever they are required whatever the weather, to ensure the Ports and Harbours operate successfully and efficiently. Wright International Ltd has a wide range of PILOT BOATS available and it is then up to the Port Authority to select the correct vessel for them. The time and effort the Naval Architects have spend designing this range allows the Port Authority to select the best vessel to control their costs.

When you look at this vessel, the largest in the range, you realise it is being selected to handle the worst weather conditions which means the highest waves and usually the furthest distance from Port to the vessel the Pilots are bringing in. the most essential element of the design is therefore going to be the engines selected. The Naval Architect has to take into account ALL aspects of the selection of engine:-

After much deliberation of the fantastic array of engine alternatives in the end the decision to select SCANIA for this vessel was taken, as it provided all the elements that the Naval Architect was after.

ENGINES
The engines selected were Twin SCANIA DSI 16 V8 engines with a rating of 525 BHP (2 x 391 kW) at 1800rpm. These engines are turbo charged and charge-air cooled 4 stroke diesel engines with EMS (Engine Management System) and unit injectors. The V8 configuration delivers a displacement of 15.6 Ltrs through its cylinders with a 127mm Bore and 154mm Stroke. Power to weight is always a determining factor and with each engine having a displacement of only 15550kg.

GEARBOX
Again after very careful deliberation the twin disc MG 5114A gearboxes were selected with their 1.7:1 ratio to deliver the transmitted power down the shaft to the twin fixed pitch propellers. The 4 blade NAB propellers will be fitted with reversible stainless steel shafting, water lubricated bearing and a conventional style gland and stuffing box. The shafts will of course be supported by the `P` brackets which will be designed to comply with Lloyds requirements PLUS 10%.

AUXILLIARY ENGINES
The Naval architect has designed this WIL 1618 - 17M PILOT BOAT with a 6.5KVA / 230v AC diesel generator to charge the batteries, heat the water and supply auxiliary power to the galley. There will also be a requirement for power to the two standby fan heaters one in the upper and one in the lower accommodation areas.

ENGINE ROOM VENTILATION & INSULATION
Wright International Ltd is aware that next to emission SOUND is the next important factor when you have to comply with the latest rules and regulations regarding the control of the environment. The difficulty comes when you have to provide ventilation to the area generating the sound, the engine room. That is where a good and clever Naval Architect can make such a difference. The engine room has to be ventilated to allow rate of approximately 20 air changes per hour. The engine room is to be insulated to meet MCA requirements and to minimise the transfer of noise and vibration. The insulation is to be 40 mm Rockwool, 110kg/m3. The insulation is to have aluminised foil facing. Under the wheelhouse the insulation will be double thickness. The engine room bulkheads are to be insulated in the same way. The insulation is to be protected with perforated aluminium alloy sheet in high traffic areas.

Complete air changes mean not only do you have to exhale the air but you require to draw in clean fresh air. This vessel will operate in up to 6m waves and you have to have to bring in air without bringing in water with it, as it is the engine room that you are ventilating.

AIR INTAKE
This WIL 1618 - 17M PILOT BOAT has been very carefully designed so that the air intake is to be by flow through port and starboard fixed forward vent trunks, which are to be fitted with filters. All ventilators are to be fitted with water traps, baffles stainless steel fireflaps and manual shutoffs.

EXTRACT AIR
Extract fans are to be fitted and will exhaust from above the engines. Sea water traps to be fitted to reduce salt accumulation on the engine tops.

EXHAUST SYSTEM
For engines to operate correctly the exhaust gases must be taken away at a very controlled rate. Too much or too little and you have problems with the mixtures. So when this WIL 1618 - 17M PILOT BOAT had its exhaust system worked on, the Naval Architect made sure it was allowing the gasses to escape at the correct and controlled rate. The main exhaust is to be a wet system, run from a steel riser bend on the engine directly into a stainless steel mixer box. The cooling water is to be injected at the mixer box.

In line GRP silencers are to be fitted connected to the GRP hull outlets and mixer box by reinforced marine diesel exhaust hose. Exhaust connection method to be approved by the Engineer, flanged connections to be considered. The outlets are to exit just on the waterline at the hull side, but are to be internally continuous for 300mm above the waterline. Attention is to be paid to ensure that the system design prevents a wave back-flushing the engines. All exposed hot exhaust pipework is to be lagged with a mineral wool and covered with sewn exhaust lagging to prevent injury.

BUNKERAGE
The main fuel tanks on this vessel will be manufactured from GRP and will have baffles fitted to prevent the movement of fuel in adverse weather. The two bottom tanks each hold 1,500 Litres of diesel, an additional pair of 1,000Litre wing tanks can also be fitted to give total fuel capacity of 5,000 Litres. Tanks have a 6mm alloy plate lids to allow cleaning out at service intervals. The lids will be secured with stainless steel bolts and will be tested in order to comply with LRS test pressure of 0.2 bar minimum. A “Tank Tender” type indicator will be fitted to each tank and a dipstick will also be fitted to each tank.

Two fuel fillers are to be positioned on the port side with save-alls connected to a catch tank or surge tank. Fillers are piped down to the tanks in aluminium pipe, with flexible sections where necessary, the tank penetrations will be at a small cofferdam between the forward and after tanks at the aft engine room bulkhead to maximise headroom when entering the machinery space.

The tanks are to be vented to swan-necks vents on the wheelhouse sides. The vents are to terminate in flameproof gauze. The fuel system is to be stainless steel tubing, with flexible sections at the engine connection points. The system is to provide the ability to run each main engine from a dedicated fuel tank but with a crossover facility. Each engine is to be supplied through a Separ fuel filter. The fuel supply lines are to be fitted with remote closing devices, led to the emergency panel in the wheelhouse.

COOLING
When PILOT BOATS operate they normally work at speed which means the engines will heat up fast unless there is adequate ventilation and cooling. The engines will be heat exchanger cooled. The raw water will be piped from the hull isolator valves which will be fitted with inlet scoops to Aquafax, or similar strainers and each engine will have its own. As usual on this type of vessel a cross connection facility will also be fitted. Waste cooling water to be injected to provide exhaust cooling.

BILGE SYSTEM
When a Naval Architect designs a WIL 1618 - 17M PILOT BOAT he knows it will be used in conditions when then the men on board wished they were somewhere else. That is when the PILOTS hope the Naval Architect has thought through every item on board carefully. One area to be very carefully worked out is the BILGE SYSTEM. Wright International Ltd has ensured this boat has belts and braces in abundance from the bilges.

The bilge system will primarily be operated by two pumps driven by the engines. These pumps will have electro magnetic clutches and controlled by three position switches mounted in the wheelhouse with auxiliary controls mounted in the engine room itself. The boat will have three suction areas and they will be the forward accommodation, the machinery space and the aft accommodation space.

The bilge system is to be run in metal piping within the engine room, rigid heavy duty plastic outside, and is to have a manifold, with a valve and non return valve connected to each suction line. The whole system is to discharge through one overboard fitting above the waterline. Where solid piping is connected to strum boxes a short length of flexible piping is to be fitted at strum boxes, which are easily accessible. An automatic bilge pump is to be fitted in the engine room and forward accommodations space. Separate hand operated pumps are to be fitted to serve as an emergency fire and as a direct suction to the engine room. The forepeak and forward store spaces are to drain to the forward accommodation by self- closing valves, fitted in the base of bulkheads.

FIRE SYSTEM
The sailors’ number one fear is fire at sea. That is why this Wright International Ltd WIL 1618 - 17M PILOT BOAT has been designed with safety built in. The Naval architect has built in an automated system with a manual backup. The engine room will have a “Pyrogen” fire system and it will be controlled from outside the wheelhouse. The back up system will be independent and manually controlled by a hand operated fire pump with dedicated seawater inland and strainer. This back up system will have 10m of hose and will be fitted with both jet and spray nozzle options. The hose will as an added safety feature have an instantaneous coupling system.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Modern Workboats require so much power to enable the vast amount of electric and electronic equipment on board to function properly. As lives are literally at stake if the electrics were to fail this WIL 1618 - 17M PILOT BOAT has built in back up systems and safety features in abundance. This vessel will be a DC SYSTEM (generally to EQ2734 24V Distribution) and the 24v D C electrical system will be a two wire system. There will be two main battery banks and will be housed in a GRP box and a charging system coupled to each.

The two-wire system will be fully insulated and fitted with fuses and/or thermal magnetic circuit breakers in both poles. The principal distribution board is to be mounted in the tank space. Earth leakage lamps are to be fitted, with lamp operation test facilities. Cables are to be run in metal conduit in the machinery space and plastic conduit elsewhere. All Connection and junction boxes are to be mounted as high as possible within the vessel, at lease 500mm above the waterline unless it is impractical to do so. Such situations are to be agreed with the Owner.

All equipment is to be of marine quality, weatherproof and suitable for use in a pilot boat environment. The battery banks are to be charged by belt driven alternators, 2 off in total, mounted on each engine. Each alternator is to have a minimum capacity of 90 amps and is to charge through a preferential diode charging system. The alternators are to be protected by fast fuses in the negative output lines. Smaller sized alternators may be used in multiple depending on main engine option, additional alternators will be required driven via a PTO or additional belt drive to provide sufficient charging capacity to run the AC system. Each bank will feed ac power via a Victron inverter/charger; these will also provide shore power charging and will be fitted with cross-over system. Each main battery bank is to be fitted with a double pole isolation switch, with a coupling switch for emergency use. One bank is to be used for engine starting and the other for boatload services; lights, wipers, horns etc.

A third battery bank for operation of radio, deck lights, emergency navigation lights and emergency internal lights, is to be fitted in the wheelhouse. Internal lights are to be fitted in all spaces. Attention is to be paid to ensure a good lighting level throughout the boat.

Construction

The vessel is designed to meet the MCA Code of Practice for Small Workboats and Pilot boats and is to be issued with a Pilot Boat Certificate based on category 3 operation. The structure is to be designed and built the requirements of the Lloyds Register of Shipping (LRS) Special Service Craft (SSC) Rules.

HULL CONSTRUCTION
This WIL 1618 - 17M PILOT BOAT will have a GRP hull and it will be constructed in such a way as to have a one-piece moulding. The gel coat, pigmented above the waterline and clear beneath, The hull is to be fitted with girders and stringer, transverse frames and bulkheads. The underwater hull surface will be protected by a Gelshield 200 system. The hull is to be structured to withstand the forces involves with speed and reinforced for the high local impact loads associated with boarding during pilotage operations. Deck knees are fitted at each frame, tapered into the structure and additionally knees are to be fitted at half-frame intervals in the forward boarding area and in the after quarters. Adequate limber holes are to be fitted throughout the craft to allow bilge water to drain.

Throughout the machinery compartment the internal GRP surfaces are to be finished in fire retardant gel paint, where not covered by fire/sound installation, and centreline bilges are to be finished in gel paint. . A sacrificial GRP stem shoe is to be fitted forward and the lower part of the forepeak is to be foam filled to provide a double skin in this area.

BULKHEADS
The vessel is to be fitted with main structural watertight bulkheads. The main structural bulkheads are fully bonded to the structure. Aluminium alloy watertight doors and hatches are to be fitted as separate units. .

DECK CONSTRUCTION
The deck is to be one-piece GRP moulding with none absorbent core material, joined to the hull by a bonded flange and supported on a series of deck beam and longitudinals. The deck core is to be removed in the flange area and removed or replaced by plywood in other high stress areas. The deck moulding is to be finished in a gel surface. A large semi-portable dogged and watertight hatch is to be fitted in order to facilitate removal of machinery.

SUPERSTRUCTURE CONSTRUCTION
The superstructure is to be a one-piece GRP moulding with none absorbent core material, joined to the deck by a bonded flange and supported on a series of beams and longitudinals. The core is to be removed in the flange and window area and removed or replaced by plywood in other high stress areas. The superstructure is to be finished in a gel surface.

MINOR FABRICATIONS AND MOULDINGS
A number of smaller minor fabrications will be required . GRP sub mouldings will be used for the WC space, mess seating and other accommodations fit out items. 2 off aft wheelhouse GRP lockers will be accessed through end panels and will provide external seating.

INTERIOR FIT OUT; lower deck arrangement

Forepeak void & Chain Locker: A watertight compartment arranged to provide anchor cable stowage. Access to the space is to be via a watertight hatch from the stores compartment. The hatch is to be fitted with dogs on the aft side only. A self –closing valve is to be fitted to drain the forepeak to the forward store.

Forward Store: Access to the forward store is via the Engine Room or by ladder down from the main deck on the centreline via the overhead escape hatch. The hatch is to have internal and external handles and an internal locking bar. The space is also fitted with a workbench and stowage for tools.

Engine Room: Access to the engine room is via watertight doors in the aft and forward bulkheads, the space is also provided with an escape hatch to the deck above. As far as possible engines, pumps, and all associated equipment are to be located in the engine room. An aluminium chequer-plate sole is to be fitted through the centreline area, with ready access panels fitted in way of under sole valves. Grab rails and guardrails are to be fitted where necessary around the machinery.

After Accommodation: Access to the galley and mess is via steps from the after part of the wheelhouse.

Galley: The galley space is to be fitted with the following equipment:
• Hob (without extractor hood but with forced ventilation)
• Combination Microwave
• Sink and drainer with hot and cold water supply
• Fridge
• Portable television
• Work surface, utensils and dry stores stowage.
• Fixed water boiler (24 volt)

Mess: The mess is positioned opposite the galley and has seating for up to 6 persons. Hanging and Individual lockers are provided for crew members, the berth is to double as a single pipe berth.

W.C. compartment: The WC space is to be formed by a moulded unit fitted to port. Access is to be by a door, fitted with a handle and indicator lock. The compartment is to be fitted with an electrically operated WC unit, with manual standby, and a wash hand basin. The basin is to have a hot & cold water supply. Grab rails, coat hooks, mirror, locker and towel rails are to be fitted.

Opposite the WC compartment is a storage area for crew gear
Fresh water and Black water tanks are fitted on the centreline below the mess area.

Aft Peak: To contain the steering gear and provide a small amount of stowage space. The space will also contain the battery boxes which are to be fitted with sealed tops and are to be vented via fans overboard. Auxiliary steering handle will also be located in this space.

INTERIOR FIT OUT; Upper deck Arrangement
Wheelhouse: Access to the wheelhouse is to be through the spray-tight door in the after wheelhouse bulkhead. A curved stairway provides access down to the aft accommodation. The wheelhouse is to have a minimum of 2.0m headroom in the central area. The wheelhouse is arranged with the helm console on the ship centreline, fitted with instrumentation and controls as appropriate. A single overhead console will provide additional instrumentation space, this will be lower profile than on the original vessel to maximise visibility.

In addition to the helm seat two crew seats, on port and one starboard are fitted to the console area. The helm and crew seats are to be suspension type, with suspension controls and fore and aft sliders. Seats are to be KAB 554 suspension type and a single spare unit supplied. The seats are to be mounted on GRP plinths, which are to be fitted with net access covers to provide effective stowage lockers. Mug holders, complete with suitable mugs, are to be fitted at the crew positions.

Aft of the helm area seating for twelve pilots is arranged on KAB 554 suspension type seats to port & starboard with the after accommodation access stairway to port. A table will be provided for 4 in number Starboard Pilot seats. Lockers and stowages are to be fitted for stowage of lifesaving and safety equipment.

ACCOMMODATION FINISH:

The accommodation area below the main deck; deckhead, bulkheads and shipsides are to be finished in a low maintenance GRP mouldings. In the wheelhouse, linings above the window line and deckheads are to be finished in removable, easy clean moulded panels providing soundproofing and thermal insulation, below the windows will be finished in similar colour contrasting moulding. Carpeting of headlining to be discussed.

On the lower deck the sole is to be formed in lightweight marine plywood, supported off the ship structure and kept clear of the main laminate. Throughout the accommodation the sole is to be covered in Altro Mandopave or equivalent. The emphasis is to be on providing an effective, durable finish for the vessel role.

DECK FITTINGS
The vessel is to have a flush main deck with 4 off stainless steel bollards, twin horn type, and 4 off open fairleads. Finish to be polished stainless steel. Substantial oversize doubler plates are to be fitted at all main deck fittings. An anchor is to be fitted in chocks on the forward deck. The anchor chain is to be connected to a deck plate with a lanyard. A 75mm diameter chain pipe is to be fitted directly above the rope reel in the fore peak, the anchor lockers stowage arrangements to be reviewed to avoid fouling of rope/chain during emergency deployment.

A SL Sea Tiger 555 windlass will be fitted to the fore deck.

A GRP tube will be bonded into the fore peak area just above the waterline to allow an echo sounder to be fitted. This will have a fitting to seal the tube when the echo sounder is not in use.

The decks are to be finished in non-slip surface.

A mast, fabricated in GRP/aluminium alloy is to be mounted on the wheelhouse top to carry the lights, radar and navigational equipment, the upper mast is to be de-mountable for docking. The mast will have an additional cross-tree for VHF and AIS equipment, the securing of this structure must be adequate to allow the safe and effective use of all mounted equipment including navigation lights. Rigid stays to be considered. A steel transom fold down ladder incorporating propeller protection will be fitted, the outboard face will be sloped inboard to avoid contact with vessels or jetties when the vessel heels.

FENDERING
Wright International Ltd
WIL 1618 - 17M PILOT BOAT has been designed to have a 15 year life span and when you consider it will be used in waves up to 6m in height you instantly realise just how important the FENDERING is to the survival of this vessel. After examining the alternatives it was decided by the Naval Architect to use a modular foam section with a Pu skin is fitted at gunwale with a key fit to the hull. The fender will have a depth of 450mm and will be surrounded by a 200mm diameter heavy duty tube. The bow and aft transom corners section are to be separately shaped modules and partially protected with rubber wear pieces, consideration will be given to additional integrated anti-slip material applied to the upper face. Position and orientation of scuppers to be given to give free draining deck when in static or dynamic condition.

The fender will be retained without bolts or through fastenings and is designed for simple Replacement (a single retaining wire in to machinery space will be permitted). The fender colour will be orange on the foam section with a black tube. The fender will be manufactured by CRP Ltd, Skelmersdale, who are experienced in foam/pu polymer engineering for the marine and offshore industries. Hull vertical side fenders to be fitted as per current vessel but will be pre-formed to give good end seal.

WINDOWS, HATCHES AND DOORS
If you have ever been out in waves up to 6m high you realise that when the waves break over the wheelhouse it is Tonnes of water at a time that is hitting the wheelhouse. Now consider when most boats are tied up the PILOTS have still to go out work in what is at best described as atrocious conditions. That is when you have to sure that the vessel you are in will endure the pounding waves for years to come.

Wright International Ltd is therefore delighted to confirm that this WIL 1618 - 17M PILOT VESSEL has been designed for this purpose and in the knowledge of what it is expected to do when handed over to its new owner. The superstructure is to be fitted with toughened glass bolt through windows, as shown in the outline G.A. fitted in aluminium alloy framed units. All windows are to be of Houdini manufacture and glazed with toughened safety glass. Windows are to be in accordance with BSMA 25.

The three front non-tinted screens are to be double glazed. Five tinted windows per side and windows in the aft bulkhead, either side of the access door are provided. The forward side windows P & S will be half slide opening with the after part sliding forward and will have vertical rear/outward facing drain pipes incorporated to avoid sea water ingress with negative wheelhouse pressure.

Three screens are to be fitted in the deckhead to allow an uninterrupted view during boarding operations. These units are to be tinted to customer specification; the centre unit will be a Lewmar 700 hatch which will provide an additional escape route from the Wheelhouse in an emergency.

The three front screens are to have pantograph screen wipers of Wynn type. All wipers are to be variable speed wipers, with effective screen washers, controls to be positioned to customer specification.

Deck hatches are to be Lewmar Ocean 70 type which are to be fitted as shown in the general arrangement drawing.

An aluminium alloy framed Houdini spraytight door is to be fitted in the aft bulkhead of the superstructure. The door is to be half glazed, fitted with an effective seal, for both watertight integrity and noise. Houdini aluminium watertight doors or hatches are to be fitted below deck between watertight compartments.

HANDRAILS
Again lives are literally at stake if the handrails were to fail, so again the Naval Architect has designed this vessel to have secure handrails that are designed to operate in the weather the rest of the vessel has been designed to. A set of 30mm diameter stainless steel handrails are to be fitted to the superstructure and deck. The rails are to be braced with cranked supports to allow free movement along the rails. A Hadrian safety traveller system will be fitted and supplied with 2 off safety harnesses and 4no. carriages per side. The handrails are to be covered with an anti slip whipping material and two wing mirrors to be fitted to shoulder handrails as.

In the wheelhouse an overhead handrail is to be fitted, together with other internal handrails as necessary, to allow crew and pilots to move around the vessel easily and with safety. Interior/exterior grab rails are to be positioned to customers choice.

LIFTING GEAR
The craft is to withstand lifting by wires, on a marine hoist or by slings from a crane. The positions of the crane slings are to be marked on the gunwale edges with tallies.

ENGINE INSTALLATION AND ENGINE BEDS
The engine beds are to be an integral part of the hull construction. The engine beds are to extend beyond the engine mounts to distribute the loads from thrust and weight of the units. The engines can be removed through the deck hatch for change, major overhaul or replacement. The beds will be constructed to provide a continuous runway to the engine removal hatch to facilitate easy removal, tracked carriage bogies are to be provided.

The engines are to be mounted on resilient mounts and fitted with torsional couplings. Particular attention is to be paid to the size of the mount securing bolts. The machinery is to be installed in accordance with the suppliers recommendations and the installation is to be approved by the supplier on completion. Care and attention is to be paid to providing a durable machinery installation with adequate support of piping and cable runs whilst minimising weight gain. Attention is to be paid to the requirement for ongoing maintenance and all solid guards to be replaced with mesh items to allow visual access to belts etc. All piping connections to the engines are to have flexible sections and particular attention is to be paid to the minimising of noise and vibration. Guards are to be fitted to rotating machinery in line with the requirements of the Engineer.

The areas under the main engines are to be utilised as catchment areas with localised limber holes and will be provided with a suction connection from the engine oil service pump, a third connection will be made to the gearbox service point from the same pump.

STEERING GEAR

WIL 1618 - 17M PILOT BOAT has taken cognisance of the fact that PILOT BOATS in general have to be extremely manoeuvrable and responsive to the helm. That is why the system adopted only requires 3 turns hard over to Port to hard over to Starboard. The steering system is to be Hypro Marine Hynautic power hydraulic type which will revert to hand control in the event of power failure. A 400mm wheel will be fitted at the helm position.

The steering system is to have a bypass valve fitted in the machinery space to allow operation by emergency tiller. The emergency tiller is to be stowed at the aft end of the machinery space. The rudders are to be fabricated stainless steel and fitted to the boat through rudder tubes complete with glands and bearings. The power steering pump will be driven from either engine in event of loss of a single engine.

SKIN FITTINGS
All skin fittings are to be fitted with sea valves except for ext outlets, which are to be discharged through suitable fittings bonded into the hull structure. All sea valves to be easily accessible for repair or service. All engine room skin fittings to have fireproof remote shut-off cables fitted.

DOMESTIC SYSTEMS
WIL 17M PILOT BOAT will have Hot & Cold running water in the Heads and in the Galley. The hot water will come from a calorifier which will be heated with engine cooling waste water heat. It will also have a built in 240v element for connection to the shore power when back at base. Hot and cold water is to be pumped to the WC basin tap by an electronic pump. The domestic water plumbing is to be run in polythene food grade piping.

Cold water is to be separately pumped to supply the screen wash jets.

Water Tank:
A fresh water tank is to be fitted holding 2701 of fresh water. The tank is to have access hatch for cleaning and inspection as well as the necessary fittings. The filler and vent are to be fitted at the aft end of the superstructure.

Black Water Tank:
A 3001 holding tank is fitted, connected to the WC and waste system.

WC:
The WC unit is to be electrically operated with the unit to discharge via the black water tank or directly overboard.

Cooking:
Cooking will be available via a twin electrical hob or a combination microwave.

AIR CONDITIONING
Throughout the ship screw-down ventilators and/or gooseneck vents are to be to provide fresh air and make and ventilation. Dorade boxes are to be fitted as necessary. The galley and the WC space are to be fitted with 100mm-extract fan discharging to the atmosphere. An HFL air conditioning system is to be fitted, mounted in the machinery space. The system is to be driven from two static inverter/chargers (one per battery/engine bank) with engine alternator capacity installed to an adequate level. A thermostat / humidistate control is to be fitted in the wheelhouse to an agreed position. The system is to be capable of use when the vessel is connected to the shore supply. The system will be arranged to serve the Wheelhouse and the lower aft accommodation with an approximate capacity of the air conditioning system (24,000btu), this is to be carefully considered to minimise AC power consumption.

PAINTING
The external colour scheme is to be the Owner’s reasonable choice.

• System trials
• Endurance trials of 4 hour duration

All trials are to be carried out at 100% tanks at commencement, with 10 crew.

As the designers and builders have a policy of continual development we reserve the right to Amend and improve specification. Such amendments and improvements are to be notified to The Owner, whose agreement shall not be unreasonably withheld.
