MAIN ENGINE
Wright International Ltd is working in close partnership with the yards in China and as a result we have been able to bring these and many more quality vessels to the market. Engines are always an emotive subject as the reliability of the vessels usually means the reliability of the engines. That is why this yard is taking no chances here.

Powered by a Niigata 8MG28HLX 8 cylinder engine rated at 3000kW (4023 BHP) and with the 8 cylinders having a 280mm bore and 400mm stroke. The power is transmitted through the 4.5:1 reduction gearbox down through the shaft to the 4 blade fixed pitch propeller with a speed of just 167rpm.

This means they have inbuilt fuel efficiency and it is capable of carrying its Cargo and its 20 of a Crew at 12.76 Knots anywhere in the world. As you know Niigata is one of the preferred engine manufacturers for these Chemical tankers as they have a well proven track record for reliability. Spares are readily available and servicing is no problem as the in line 8 cylinder engine, has a well proven track record in this type of vessel.

Construction

These vessels are under construction in mainland China and will be delivered with BV or CCS Code of Practice, whichever you prefer. Manufactured in mild steel and all welding and construction approved by Code of Practice for IMO 11 Tankers. Being Chemical Tankers the cargo oil tanks are suitable for fully loading cargoes with specific gravity up to 1.025.

Cathodic protection for the underwater hull shall be provided with impressed current with a mean density of 35mA/m2. The aluminium anodes shall be provided for ballast tanks, sea chest and by means of sufficient amount of aluminium anodes with average current density at 5ma/m2. The Anodes shall be certificated as non sparking.

Bilge Keel: A Bilge Keel with a length of approximately 30% of the vessel’s length to be fitted. At each side the bilge keel will be tapered without special reinforcement.

Superstructure and deck house are of welded steel construction and in general the plate thickness shall be:

Exposed Deck : As per Class Regulations
External Walls: 7mm
Other areas: 6mm

The superstructure and deck house are steel flat plates watertight construction with vertical stiffeners.

The 9000m3 cargo will be split into 10 x tanks.

Accomodation

These TANKERS are designed to be International vessels and as such reflected in the accommodation. Designed for long sea passages and fitted out to allow its 20 Crew to enjoy a European standard with individual cabins with en suite facilities. The clear height has also been designed for Europeans at 2.1m minimum. The accommodation shall consist of:-
