Converted Houseboat

Wright International Ltd has an increasing amount of boats sold to customers all over the world to be used as a liveaboard for permanent residence. When you see the specification and price of this particular boat, this would be an ideal candidate for a single person or a young couple. The owner of this boat currently lives onboard and as such is very much living proof that this boat is ready to be lived on with immediate effect despite needing some TLC.

The boat was formerly a Naval Stores Tender and was designed and built regardless of costs. The boat has an extremely solid construction but currently does not have any engines installed. This has many advantages including extra storage space, easier to arrange finance and insurance and in some cases, easier to arrange a mooring as well.

This liveaboard offers excellent value for money and would be ideal for a first time buyer who can’t afford to get on the ridiculous property ladder. You can also if you prefer reinstall a pair of diesel engines and enjoy very economical cruising onboard this solid 40 footer.

Construction

This former Naval Stores Tender is constructed of a cross diagonal construction with cascover nylon cloth bonded with cascophen resorcinol glue. This is apparently the standard naval spec for a boat of this age and class.

The boat currently could benefit from some TLC and in particular, attention paid to the cabin roof and some areas of the deck. The boat has however been priced accordingly and a good survey will be able to highlight any work required.

Accomodation

The accommodation onboard this boat offers fantastic headroom of approximately 6ft 6 inch. The boat has been converted to offer 4 berths in one double and a second double berth that can also be used as 2 singles.

The galley onboard has all the basics to allow you to prepare hot meals etc but may require upgrading for more long term living. The heating onboard comes from either an Eberspacher heating system or through a solid fuel stove.

The heads compartment has a shower and hot tub with pressurised hot and cold water. There are also 2 toilets onboard, one of which leads to a holding tank whilst the other leads overboard.
