Engines

MAIN ENGINE
The designers of this vessel were conscious that this vessel could literally end up anywhere in the world and that servicing the engine required a manufacturer that had these facilities on a global basis. That is why the Naval Architect designed it to be fitted with a 6 cylinder in-line MAK 9 M1C25 rated at 4040BHP(2970kW) with a Cylinder Stroke of 255mm x Bore of 400mm. The engine is an air start model and has a designed rotational speed of just 750rpm. The power is transmitted down the shaft to the Nickel-Aluminium-Bronze five bladed propeller with a medium skew. This combination provides a service speed of 12.2Knots and a range of some 6000 Nautical Miles.
