MAIN ENGINE
This vessel was manufactured in 1971 as a seal hunter in Norway. It was used in some of the most inhospitable waters imaginable to man. Being a single engine vessel the Manufacturers carefully selected an engine that had a proven track record in vessels of this size and that was when they selected MAK. Caterpillar / MAK is probably the number one engine manufacturer in the world for vessels of this size, making access to spares very simple and extremely cost effective.
This ship is being sold with over £200,000 GBP worth of spares on board and will be shown when viewing the vessel as it is not practical to list them all here. ALL spares and ALL ships tools are included in the sale of the vessel.
This vessel was manufactured in 1971 to ice Class. It was refitted in 1979 and converted from a Seal Hunter to a Government Research Vessel. It was also totally refitted in 1999, 2000, 2001 and in 2002. The last major refit was when they changed the Government Research Vessel into a serious Dive Support Vessel. The owners also took this opportunity to fully re build the main engine from the Crankshaft up. It is fair to say this MAK 1600 BHP (1193 kW) is as good as new. One look at the photographs will testify to that.

•2x Detroit 115 kva Gen Sets both rebuilt 2002 and 2004

BOW THRUSTER
Working in ice flows it is a requirement to have a highly manoeuvrable vessel to avoid the ice. This vessel being single screw would have had a poor turning circle; instead they fitted a powerful Bow Thruster with variable pitch propeller

So far Wright International Ltd has expounded the fact that this vessel is fitted out for serious dive operations. Now this is where it is time to let you in on what we were talking about.
Any dive operation is fully dependent on one thing…………………CLEAN AIR. This vessel was fitted with NEW large Air / Nitrox banks (buffers) in 2007. These buffers are all piped to the compressor room which is most impressive on a vessel of this size.
The Air compressor produces 232 Bar and has been well maintained and tested. There is also a Nitrox compressor making Nitrox up to 40% with a membrane filter. There is also an air compressor for sand sucking which is powered by a Deutz diesel engine producing 90 cfm.
If you look at the photographs you will see the impressive `A` frame on the aft deck. What is more impressive is that it was NEW IN 2006 and it is capable of lifting 22 Tons. There is also a 6 Ton Grab for salvage work.
WINCHES
3 drum 12 Ton deck winch
2 x 14 Ton Tugger winches
