123 Passenger Paddle Boat

Wright International Ltd has on offer a very unique passenger boat that will give tourists the boat ride never to forget. As this boat is a paddle boat, you instantly get a feeling of being on vacation, not just a typical boat ride. Having personally been on a paddle boat, I can also vouch for how smooth and quiet these boats are compared to more conventional passenger boats. This boat is also arguably the most manoeuvrable boat in the world of its size. This is thanks to having two paddle wheels, 4 rudders and both bow and stern thrusters as well. If you really wanted to, you could spin this boat like crazy it is that manoeuvrable! The boat is available today with 2 decks, a full bar, male and female toilets and the capability of having 123 guests onboard. This is a lot of boat for the money and wont be available for long.

Engines

The main engine is a Westerbeke 314C diesel engine (68hp only) which powers a hydraulic pump.  The hydraulics in turn power motors which are attached to a chain that actually turns the paddles (two motors, two chains, one for each paddle).  Each paddle can be operated independently from the other, thus giving the twin screw effect. There is one lever for engine RPM’s, and then one for each paddle.

In addition to this we have a 10kW Westerbeke generator.  In the event of main engine or hydraulic pump failure, we can run the paddles using the power from the generator, via a second hydraulic pump.  In this instance, the paddles will only operate as a matched pair, i.e. both astern or both forward at the same speed.  This is very much a “fall-back” situation, but at least there are “two engines”, in effect.

Accomodation

This passenger boat would be ideal for both tourist trips or as a party boat. The boat has been equipped with both male and female toilets that lead to a holding tank to prevent discharge at sea in protected areas.
