Engines

INTERCEPTOR 42 is manufactured in County Cork in Ireland by SAFEHAVEN MARINE and has an excellent record for construction and for use in inclement waters especially. Manufactured in heavy duty GRP, these vessels are coded to MCA Small Commercial Vessels specification for Area 2 operations up to 60 miles from any safe haven. The construction has taken the deep `V` hard chine design and used it to find the balance between speed and Sea Keeping to make the INTERCEPTOR 42 one of the safest vessels of its type anywhere in the world.

The shell laminate and scantlings have been worked out by the Naval Architect in conjunction with Lloyds under the special service craft rules and regulations. The GRP composite construction uses CSM. It has woven rovings and uni-directional fibres which makes it both strong and durable for coastal operations.

MAIN ENGINE
This vessel is fitted out for serious operations and as such reliability was the main issue when building this vessel and not cost. The Electronic unit injection system maintains optimum fuel economy at all times and the Electronic Vessel Control (EVC) system monitors engine parameters and displays them on digital panel in wheelhouse. There is also an electronic shift and throttle.
