MAIN ENGINE
This vessel is powered by the world famous Lister Blackstone ERS 8M engine rated at 660BHP (492Kw) and operated on Marine Gas Oil driving a controllable pitch propeller through a Slack and Parr reduction gearbox. This engine is designed to operate at just 750 rpm and is very fuel efficient as a result. Working as a research vessel the Captain is often called upon to make changes in course in a very tight confine and to aid him he has the extra advantage of having not only a bow thruster but stern thruster as well.

Construction

Manufactured in Scotland in 1968 to DtP Class V111 built to Lloyds +100A1 specification and given a major rebuild in 1988, this vessel has just passed its Special Survey and is fully coded and ready to work for its new owner.

Flying the British Flag and coded to DTp V111 this vessel is coded for survey work and is fully equipped to do so.

Decking Equipment

This vessel has a wide reputation for its versatile deployment and that is largely due to its deck equipment. It is equipped with winches, reel drums an `A` Frame and a deck crane. This allows it to either tow or to lower sampling equipment, ROV`s etc into the water.

A – FRAME – this extremely important piece of equipment has a capacity of 1.5 Tonnes and a height of 4m.
