15m Steel Twin Screw Motor Yacht

Wright International Ltd believes that the best motor yacht to buy in today’s tough conditions would be an economical, sea worthy steel cruiser. When you consider that this particular example is powered by twin Gardner engines, has a steel construction and we originally designed for the Chief Engineer of Vickers Shipyard, I am sure you will agree that this is close on being perfect! The 6 berth accommodation in 3 cabins helps give this boat a sense of being a small ship, rather than a large yacht. This would be the ideal choice for those looking to extensively cruise offshore without having to employ a crew onboard.

Engines

The engines onboard this 15m steel yacht are a pair of Gardner 6LW diesels. These engines provide approximately 95hp each and allow you to cruise all day at 8 knots. Gardner engines are by far your proper old school engines where those that worked on them were called engineers, not technicians.

These engines are very simple to operate, service, maintain and repair. Essential for those looking to look after the pennies and for any engine work carried out at sea.

Construction

The construction of this boat is by far its strongest selling point. Many modern boats may look like they were designed by an artist rather than an architect, but when it comes to handling rough weather, most modern boats cannot handle it.

Unfortunately, the UK’s climate is one where we can never tell what the weather is going to be like for sure for any given time. Therefore if you want a safe, comfortable and relaxing experience on the water…..you need a boat that can handle all weathers.

This little ship was as mentioned above, originally built for the Chief Engineer of Vickers Shipyard. The steel and construction met with LLoyds special survey for classification 100 A1 yacht. The owner still has a full set of drawings showing the original plan and specification which will be included in the sale.
