This vessel is designed as a Pelagic Trawler and as such had to have a very reliable engine. It has an inline 6 cylinder Deutz SBV6M628 engine rated at 1508BHP (1103kW) and the power is transmitted down through the reduction J. W. BERG gearbox down the shaft to the 2900mm Dia. propeller. Even at 40m in length this engine will power the vessel at 10 knots Cruising or 12 knots max.

Construction

This vessel was manufactured in 1986 and was built to Ice Class for longer pelagic cruising in hostile waters. It is I.A.C.S. LTD Class as it is Det Norske Veritas (DNV) +1A1 Ice-C Stern Trawler. Being a self freezing pelagic it has the capability of catching and transporting 250 Tonne frozen fishing in cartons.
