ENGINE
This yacht has so many upgrades and new equipment that is hard to do justice to them all here. In 1996 the engine was renewed with a NEW Yanmar 2GM 20F 2 cylinder 18 hp diesel engine. It is a conventional shaft drive and the deep sea seals were replaced at the same time. To keep everything NEW the owner replaced the propeller with a NEW 2 blade folding prop as well. The advantage this engine has is it is fresh water cooled so you do not have to constantly clean the filters.
The engine is controlled by a single MORSE control and the helmsman can keep an eye on everything through the rpm gauge and the hour meter.
SEA COCKS
ALL the sea cocks were replaced with new sea cocks and hoses in 2002.

Ron Holland was born in New Zealand in 1947 and is one of the best known “Names” in Yacht design with so many successful designs and boats constructed under his guidance. It is little wonder then that Jeanneau should approach him to design their Jeanneau Rush Cruiser / Racer. The yacht was designed by Ron Holland and manufactured in France in 1984.
This GRP all rounder has been epoxy coated since new. It also had the luxury of having the first nine years of its life winter stored inside to allow the GRP to dry out perfectly. It is stored on the hard standing every year and given a once over before being put back into the water.
The design of these Jeanneau Rush Yachts was to have a fin keel, spade rudder and skeg and to be tiller controlled. The attractive lines making an excellent family boat as well as a very successful racer.
There are many racing yachts that are so basic in the inside they just could not be considered “Family” yachts. When Ron Holland was approached by Jeanneau it was to design a yacht that could be used by both without sacrificing one from the other. That is why the level of comfort in this boat reflects a mature FAMILY yacht and with a proven successful racing history, without sacrificing performance. It sleeps six in two double and two single berths.
FORWARD CABIN
This has a double `V` berth with a sliding door to provide privacy. It is bright, light and comfortable with its white headlining and green patterned Dralon upholstery. There is storage under the berths and on the shelves.
SALOON
The saloon is comfortable to seat six of a crew. There is one single berth and one convertible double settee with a drop leaf table in between. The Saloon has been tastefully decorated by having the teak lined cockpit and green patterned Dralon upholstery with white removable headlining.
REAR QUARTER
The rear quarter has a berth positioned behind the chart table area and it is again a full size berth to allow a comfortable nights sleep.
FINISH
The owner of this superb yacht has not spared any expense when you see how much of it has been replaced and when. In 2002 the headlining was replaced with a NEW removable white vinyl to freshen up the inside of the boat.
The windows are finished in smoked grey continuous plexi-glass in the cabins to compliment the smoked grey washboards in the companionway and main hatches. The hatches in the Saloon and the Forecabin are of the Gebo type.
HEADS
To save on space the HEADS has a folding door. There is a ceramic bowl sea toilet and hanging wet locker. The wash basin has storage both above and below.
GALLEY
This is one area that defines this boat as an all rounder. The GALLEY on board this Jeanneau Rush has had a NEW Plastimo 2 burner gas cooker that has an integral grill and oven.
Instead of a refrigerator there is a large GRP lined and insulated ice box.
There is a stainless steel sink with storage underneath. But it is when you come to the rest of the storage you realise how tastefully it has been finished off. The crockery locker, pan storage locker and lockers in the Saloon as well as Galley are all fitted in smoked glass. As well as providing copious amounts of storage the storage has become a feature of the whole boat and shows again how professional Ron Holland was at achieving this simply.
NAVIGATION STATION
Designed for racing it is imperative it has a superb chart table so the charts can be scrutinised at any time comfortably and clearly. There is a full size chart table and the navigation instruments have been ergonomically positioned to assist the team in providing the data required to finish the race.
The charts themselves are stored under the table and there is storage lockers for books and further charts if required.
