Engines

MAIN ENGINE
Ask any operator what is the most important aspect of any NEW BUILD. The answer is always the same. Availability of the spares for the equipment on board. Imagine then having a vessel like this with some of the most popular manufacturers equipment on board. You can service this vessel in almost any port in the world due to the worldwide network of suppliers who handle this machery.

The MAIN ENGINES are CUMMINS KTA 50 M2 16 cylinder engines. The Twin 4 stroke, 16 cylinder engines with their 159mm stroke x 159mm bore operate at just 1900rpm. Rated at 1600 BHP (1193kW) each, these engines are running on just 200 Ltrs/Hr each. Being turbocharged and aftercooled the engines are designed to reduce emissions and present a low carbon footprint for the owner. The power is transmitted through the engine to the twin Reintjes WAF665L gearboxes with their 5:95:1 reduction. Down the shafts to the two fixed pitch propellers in Kort Nozzles.

GENSETS
To keep the spares compatible this vessel is also fitted with Cummins Gen Sets. The Cummins 240MXDEF Gen Sets are rated as 240kW/3ph/415V/50Hz.

BOW THRUSTER
It would be inconceivable to make a tug now without a Bowthruster and so this one has an electric driven HRP 3 Tonne bow thruster to assist in manoeuvring in close quarters.

Construction

Wright International Ltd has a Worldwide reputation in only working with vessels that comply with I.A.C.S. Ltd. (International Association of Classification Societies Ltd). These superb vessels are manufactured under the auspices of Bureau Veritas – BV and therefore comply with I.A.C.S Ltd recommendations.

Classed as BV, 1 HULL MACH TUG Unrestricted Navigation allowing these vessels to be used in port in the world. At 36m in length, with 16 of a Crew and with a very sensible 40 TBP, there can be few companies in the world who would not benefit from having one of these tugs on their books.

Accomodation

This vessel has been designed and built to service the world and the owners of this vessel can relax in the knowledge that the Crew are being well looked after when they are working for the company.

The Captain Chief Engineer and Officers have their accommodation on the Forecastle and the rest of the Crew on the Main Deck. There is full liveaboard facilities on board for long periods at sea and all equipment on board is A list names. Not just in the obvious places like engine room and helm but also in the plasma screens, laundry equipment and galley.

TOWING WINCH
The vessel is designed and certificated to have a 40 TBP capacity and the towing winch has been designed to facilitate this.
