This ship is powered by twin B&W Alpha diesel engines. The 1423L-VO engines are 14 cylinder, turbo charged, 4-stroke diesels. The cylinder has a bore of 225mm, a stroke of 300mm and an engine speed of 800rpm giving an output of 2030bhp per engine.
The engines were last overhauled in 2004 and have since clocked just over 20,000 hours each. The engines are coupled to B&W Alpha Diesel 33V031 gearboxes. These gearboxes were last inspected in November 2006 and have the same hours as the main engines.
The main generators onboard are Caterpillar 3412 generators with approximately 2000 hours since there last overhaul. These generators are used to provide 220/380v, 50Hz, 3 phase power throughout the ship.
Onboard you will also find a 1996 Riley-Beaird Inc. Maxim HJ 20C water maker that can produce 4.5 tonnes per day.
The emergency fire pump is a 4 stroke Lister unit that provides 18hp of power at only 2300rpm. This unit was rebuilt in March 2004 for inspection and a new electric starter was fitted in November 2006.
The air compressor is an Ingersoll-Rand 7T 2V9 compressor with a hi-pressure output of 500psi @ 800rpm. This 4 stroke unit was last overhauled in November 2006.
