Offshore Charter Boat

Wright International Ltd has for sale a true offshore charter boat that would make an excellent dive boat, tournament fishing boat, passenger boat, pilot boat or crew boat. When it comes to purchasing a boat, just like purchasing a car or house, you always have a concern regarding the previous owners and the care and maintenance invested over the years. If this is a real concern for you then we strongly recommend you stop searching for alternatives until you have stepped onboard this boat. The boat was originally launched in Miami in 1979 and has remained under the same ownership since new!!

Only 1 owner has been responsible for this boat through its 30 years of service including a major rebuild in 2002, the engines being replaced in 2003 and in April 2007, the boat received a 5 year COI from the USCG for 44 passengers up to 100 miles offshore. As part of the maintenance regime that this owner carries out, the boat is hauled annually for hull cleaning, painting, and inspection. All underwater anodes are changed; prop shafts, hangers and rudders are inspected. The propellers are removed and shopped for any required repairs and balancing. The decks and upper works are painted annually and the USCG also carries out an inspection annually.

This is a fantastic true offshore charter boat that offers exceptional value for money. For more information or to arrange a viewing, please email us at Miami@Wright-International.com or call our Miami Office on 1-305-396-9101.

Engines

In 2003, the owners of this boat purchased a pair of 1996 Detroit 12V71 diesel engines that were completely rebuilt prior to being installed. The engines give a combined horsepower in excess of 1200hp and have around 3,200 hours logged to date. The engines are coupled to MG-514 Twin Disc gearboxes at a ratio of 2:1. This then in turn is connected to the 2.5 inch diameter stainless steel prop shafts and 32” x 30” 3 bladed bronze propellers.

Each year, the boat is hailed out the water for annual maintenance including hull cleaning, painting, and inspection. All underwater anodes are changed; prop shafts, hangers and rudders are inspected. The propellers are removed and shopped for any required repairs and balancing. The engines and generator oil and filters (including fuel) are changed ever 300 operating hours.

As well as the main engines onboard, you also have a 16kw Isuzu generator.

Construction

The hull design of this boat has made it one of the finest offshore charter boats in the area. The boat has a flush deck, a raked bow, a transom stern, and a cabin with two tables and seating for fourteen persons. Onboard you also have a heads compartment and an enclosed pilothouse that offers 360 visibility.

You could say that this vessel is a typical “Sport Fisherman” type with flush deck, recessed cockpit aft and enclosed pilothouse atop. The beauty of this particular design however is that you have walk-around access with closed bulwarks, 2 ½’ to 3’ in height.

The hull design is so strong thanks to having five separate water-tight compartments separated by four water-tight bulkheads.
