The current owners have owned this boat for 3 years now and had planned on converting the boat into a luxury yacht for vacations during their early retirement. However, there plans have now changed and as such they do not have the time available to work on the boat the way they once had planned.
The previous owner of this boat had fished for prawn for 20 years and with the hull structure like this, its clear this is one serious offshore trawler. The boat measures 75ft x 21ft x 11ft and was built in 1969 by George Thomson and Son of Buckie, Scotland.
The construction of the boat consists of larch on oak with massive frames, 3 inch hull planking and as proof of the strength of this boat, even the deck planking is 2.5 inches thick!
The current owner is still in contact with the skipper and crew that has sailed this boat for the past 20 years and they are willing to assist in the sea trial, delivery and conversion work if required.

The accommodation onboard is pretty much stripped out ready for conversion. The owners were not looking for a quick short cut and sell the boat on for a profit; instead they were planning on holding onto the boat long term, long into their retirement.
As a part of this plan, the owners spent a considerable amount of time onboard taking detailed measurements, created detailed drawings and they decided to build a scale model of the boat before building the accommodation for real!
The owners then took this one stage further and have built accommodation in modular form that can be stripped down and fits through the main cargo hold to allow you to create the boat of your dreams with only a couple of months work.
The owner would be delighted to meet you onboard, discuss the layout plans and also discuss your requirements to see how best this boat could be converted to suit your needs.
The wheelhouse as you would imagine houses more navigation equipment than your standard yacht could ever dream of! This equipment includes:-
Necco Auto Pilot
Furuno Radar
Furuno Full Colour Depth Sounder
GPS
Sailor VHF + Scrambler And Radio Telephone
EPIRB
Original Brass Roof Mounted Compass
