Wright International Ltd has now been onboard many fleet tenders over the years and each time we board them, you instantly notice the difference when a ship is designed and built for the MOD. This particular example has been used as a dive charter vessel and is a Loyal Class Fleet Tender. There is plenty of accommodation for 12 to live onboard for long periods of time making it ideal for those looking to cruise and dive further offshore. The boat is powered by a 330hp Lister Blackstone engine and has proved to be very reliable and economical. Most fleet tenders cruise at around 8.5 knots and burn only around 30 litres per hour. For a true offshore, blue water, liveaboard dive charter boat, you cannot beat this Loyal Class Fleet Tender.

Engines

The engine onboard this Loyal Class Fleet Tender is a Lister Blackstone ERS 4 MCR, 4 cylinder turbo charged diesel engine. The engine is rated at 330hp and is electric start that drives a 2:1 reduction gearbox with a conventional shaft and propeller. The engine runs at a very comfortable 10.5 knots @ 750rpm and consumes only 12 gallons per hour giving you a range close on 1000 nautical mile. The engine is controlled from the bridge with an engine room telegraph system.

In order to help provide additional power onboard, the ship is also equipped with a Perkins 6.354 45Kva, 6 cylinder diesel generator as well as a Perkins 4.108 13Kva 4 cylinder diesel generator. The ship is also equipped with shore power.

Accomodation

The accommodation onboard offers a total of 18 berths comprising of 6 officers and 12 students. There is also 2 head compartments, a shower, fully equipped galley and a wheelhouse that makes this ship extremely capable of coastal and offshore navigation.
