It was designed therefore to be gas turbine power as that is more fuel efficient than using the same horse power in diesel. The power comes from twin Allison 501KF turbines with a combined power of 10,600BHP. The power is transmitted down through the Philadelphia 20 HMG-HP2S reduction gearbox with a ratio of 27.39:1 to the twin CPP LIPS propellers.

Construction

This vessel was manufactured in United States of America and was built to comply with the full ABS certification and Classification. The vessel was built of all welded aluminium construction during 1998. Deigned and built as a High Speed- gas Turbine Crewboat / passenger vessel. It has twin pontoon hull, a transom stern and an aluminium double level superstructure with a raised pilothouse forward. The hull is protected by means of formed plate rub rails around the exterior.
